About Us

Steve Whitney and Eva Barkasz’s paths first crossed 19 years ago at Anton Mosimann’s Exclusive Private Dining Club in Belgravia, London where Eva was the General Manager and Steve was Executive Chef.

Steve’s cooking style derived from experience gained in some of London’s finest 5 star hotel kitchens in London-the Berkeley, Claridges, the Dorchester, the Savoy, Grosvenor House (90 Park Lane) as well as overseas in France, Sweden and the USA.

Steve enjoyed the honour of cooking for many celebrities as well as royalty-including on separate occasions- Prince Charles, Prince Phillip, Prince Edward, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Eva’s hospitality background was dominated by management experience in hotels culminating at Gleneagles in Scotland before moving to Private Member’s Clubs including Mosimann’s and Monte’s amongst others.

Chef Patron Steve Whitney passed away on Monday 18 November, 2019

Steve was passionate about sharing his skills and coaching others.  Most diners didn’t realise that he was not always in the kitchen during the last six months (except for the lack of colourful language). The loyal kitchen team, led by Carl and Wendy, will continue to produce Steve’s dishes to his high standards but, without him at the helm, we will shorten the menu a little and keep Whits on the straight and narrow for the foreseeable future.
